Our Board: Oregon Environmental Council’s Board of Directors includes professionals, academics and experts from across a range of expertise from conservation to climate, finance to forestry. Meet the newest members of our board:
Amira Streeter
Amira Streeter moved to Portland from Maryland to attend the prestigious Northwestern School of Law, Lewis & Clark and participate in their robust Environmental and Natural Resources Law program. Since graduating in 2013 with a J.D. and Certificate in environmental and natural resources law, Amira has cultivated a wide range of experiences in the environmental field. Her work experience includes working for environmental nonprofits, law firms, private consulting organizations, and government agencies.
Amira works for City Commissioner Nick Fish as a Policy Director. She is currently a leader of the Environmental Professionals of Color and has been active with the Oregon Chapter of the Sierra Club. Amira is a strong advocate for social justice and civil rights. She has worked for the Urban League of Portland where she lobbied for progressive reform on housing, criminal justice reform, and health equity and served as co-chair of the the Oregon Health Equity Alliance. A passionate environmentalist, Amira served on the Emerging Leaders Board for two terms before joining the Board of Directors. She is excited to serve Oregon Environmental Council in a new capacity.
Justin King
Justin King is the eldest of the third generation of King family members at King Estate Winery, where he currently serves as Oregon State Manager. Justin is recognized as a pioneering acoustic guitarist and has founded and operated recording studios in Oregon and New York. He attended San Francisco Art Institute, Pacific Northwest College of Art and School of Visual Arts NYC. From 2008-2011 Justin worked as a photojournalist in places such as Iraq, Haiti and South Africa, producing work published by the BBC. Justin and his wife currently reside in Eugene, Oregon where he serves on multiple community boards.
