About KristaKrista Snell is Communications Director for Oregon Environmental Council
Krista Snell has been communications director at OEC since March 2019. She leads a team responsible for developing communication strategies that help advance OEC’s efforts to advocate for impactful, lasting solutions that get at the source of Oregon’s environmental problems and have real benefits for people’s health and quality of life.
These strategies include publications, blogs, action alerts, outreach events, education, online marketing, social media, and conferences.
Over the past 15 years she has worked for healthcare, public policy, and higher education nonprofits telling their stories and helping to raise awareness and financial support.
Prior to joining OEC, she was the director of marketing and university relations at Southern University at Shreveport, where she helped raise the university’s profile and led the crafting of its first branding guide and multi-year strategic communications plan. Previously, she was director of development and communications at Martin Luther King Health Center & Pharmacy, and communications director at Hope Policy Institute in Jackson, Mississippi. She began her career in broadcast journalism as a writer and news producer.
Krista is inspired daily by the natural beauty of the state of Oregon and the fierce commitment of the many wonderful organizations working to preserve that beauty for the next generation.
