About Guthrie

Guthrie Straw is the Office Manager for Oregon Environmental Council

Guthrie (he/they) has spent over three decades getting to know almost every nook and cranny in Oregon. Born in the small town of Enterprise, OR, first home and land of the Nimiipuu (Nez Perce), Guthrie works to understand the nuances of urban and rural experiences through an equity lens, and can be found in his spare time cycling, packrafting and leaning deeply into a sense of place and wonder for the natural world and human connections that surround us.

A Few of Guthrie’s Favorite Oregon Experiences Are:

“Ice break up on Wallowa lake in early spring, ‘crrk-snap’ of hawks collecting nest twigs in giant sequoias, Elk calls between valleys during harvest moon on a lingering fall eve”
