Chris Hagerbaumer is currently working on special projects for Oregon Environmental Council.
Chris served as OEC’s Deputy Director from July 2006 through November 2019, providing leadership, support, and coordination to OEC’s professional program staff; serving as an ambassador for the organization; and assisting with fundraising, budgeting and other cross-organizational needs.
Chris joined OEC in 1996 as transportation program director, leading the organization’s program to curb air pollution and climate pollution from cars and trucks, and continued to lead this work in her Deputy Director role until hire of a new transportation program director in 2019.
Chris has a background in environmental policy, advocacy and education, including work with the Environmental Law and Policy Center in Chicago and the U.S. Peace Corps. She has a master’s degree in public policy from the University of Chicago and an undergraduate degree in German from Reed College. Chris enjoys the great outdoors and has traveled extensively.
