CLIMATE ACTION CAN’T WAIT.

Climate Can't Wait Climate justice advocates gather to raise awareness about climate change

Paid for by Oregon Environmental Council Oregon community members want lawmakers to know: We cannot afford to take a year off of climate action. FUNDING FOR OUR FUTURE The policies in this package were strategically crafted to leverage unprecedented federal funding for climate, clean energy, and critical public services that will benefit Oregon families, workers, and local economies. By investing nearly $100 million in crucial climate action, the Climate Resilience Package will enable the state to leverage at least 10 times that in federal funding. In short: without urgent legislative action to pass and fully fund these policies, the State risks leaving $1 Billion on the table to improve the lives and livelihoods of Oregonians across the state. Climate-fueled extreme heat, drought, and wildfires are devastating the lives and livelihoods of Oregonians, destroying entire communities, threatening our local economies, and worsening public health outcomes across the state.

Oregon is running out of time to act on climate and protect communities.
WE ARE CALLING FOR URGENT ACTION The Oregon legislature must do its part to address this crisis and advance climate justice, by passing the “Climate Resilience Package” (HB 3409 & HB 3630), which brings together and funds more than a dozen widely supported bills from the 2023 legislative session. Together, these policies will provide essential services to make Oregon communities safer, healthier, more resilient and affordable. OREGON CAN’T WAIT Oregon lawmakers must pass the Climate Resilience Package as soon as possible to drive needed climate progress, strengthen community resilience and well-being, and support a thriving, equitable clean energy economy.
