FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Oregon Environmental Council to Celebrate 40th Anniversary at Event in Portland, September 12
Oldest statewide environmental group to commemorate four decades of working to protect what we all love about Oregon
Jul 24, 2008PORTLAND, Ore—July 24, 2008—This coming September 12, several hundred Oregonians – united in their commitment to a healthy Oregon and sustainable living – will gather in Portland to help celebrate the Oregon Environmental Council’s 40th anniversary as a leader in keeping Oregon a place that we’re all proud to call home.
The event will be held at OHSU’s LEED Platinum Center for Health and Healing in the recently redeveloped Southwest Waterfront area, at the base of the tram. This new facility is one of the greenest buildings in Oregon, and a perfect setting for our celebration.
Entertainment will include live music and a special performance of Live Wire, a Portland-based ensemble that produces a one-hour live radio show on Oregon Public Broadcasting featuring music and sketch comedy. There will also be live and silent auctions for eco-friendly experiences like a week's stay at a solar-powered hacienda in Baja California and other local destination points. The event will showcase sustainably grown local food, wine and beer.
Reservations should be purchased in advance to guarantee space. Reservations and additional information are available online at www.oeconline.org or by calling Wendy Buchanan at 503-222-1963 ext. 106.
