Protecting Oregonians from Pollution
See how we're working to ensure that children learn, play & live in toxic-free environments. We're working with business, government and individuals -- and you can help!
Kids’ Health
OEC works to protect kids from toxic pollution by empowering caregivers to reduce children’s exposure to hazardous substances and by empowering Oregonians to make policy that protects kids’ health.
2009 Legislation:
Oregon Environmental Council is forwarding several proposals with a broad group of allies.
Pest management:
Senate Bill 637 would require K-12 schools to adopt smarter, safer pest management techniques, reducing the use of toxic chemicals. See our fact sheet.
School buses:
House Bill 2795 would improve children's health by reducing exposure to diesel emissions. The bill requires that all diesel school buses in Oregon be retrofitted with filters by 2017 or replaced with cleaner buses by 2025. See our fact sheet.
